How Across Hours works

Across Hours helps you find when you and another person in a different time zone are both available. It combines your usual hours, their usual hours, and both time zones to show a genuinely good time to connect.

01 Add someone

Search for the city where someone lives or works, then save the result with a label you will recognise. Their name can be primary while the underlying place and time zone remain visible. Across Hours keeps saved people in your browser, so an account is not required.

02 Set both availabilities

Choose when they are usually available in their local time, then set your own usual available hours. Your hours follow your current device time zone, which makes the comparison useful if you travel. Across Hours never guesses either window: a true overlap needs both sides.

03 Find the overlap

Across Hours evaluates the same moment in both time zones and keeps only the periods that fall inside both availability windows. If both people are available now, it shows a good time. Otherwise it finds the next overlapping hours and displays that opening in both local times.

The calculation uses real time-zone rules rather than a fixed offset, so daylight saving time and date-boundary changes are reflected as the relationship between places changes.

04 A simple example

Imagine your available hours are Bogotá 09:00–18:00 and the other person's hours are London 08:00–18:30. Across Hours does not present either full schedule as the answer. It shows only the periods where those two windows overlap after applying the current time-zone difference. That overlap is the useful window for a call or conversation.

05 Share it

Send the comparison as a link so the other person can see the same local times and overlap without an account or installed app. Names are optional and appear only when you explicitly include them. The recipient can then open the normal Across Hours experience and compare times with their own people.
